Mohali, Oct 26 (NationPress) Punjab FC has enhanced its goalkeeping department with the acquisition of Indian shot-stopper Arshdeep Singh. The 28-year-old from Mahilpur has signed a one-year deal, joining from the Indian Super League (ISL) club Hyderabad FC just in time for the upcoming AIFF Super Cup 2025 match against Gokulam Kerala FC on October 27.
Arshdeep's football journey is closely tied to the local area. He started his training at the AIFF Elite Academy and made his professional debut with Minerva Punjab.
He was promoted to the senior team for the 2016-17 season and played a vital role in the historic I-League championship win in 2017-18. His time with Minerva also included significant matches in both the AFC Champions League Qualifying Round and the AFC Cup, gaining him critical continental experience early on.
He transitioned to the Indian Super League (ISL) in 2019, demonstrating his skills across several clubs. He began with Odisha FC, where he spent three seasons and made his debut against NorthEast United FC. During that period, he made 33 appearances, establishing himself as a dependable presence in goal. In the 2022–23 season, he moved to FC Goa, where he further impressed with 17 appearances. Most recently, he played for Hyderabad FC during the 2024–25 season, reinforcing his reputation as a steadfast goalkeeper in the league.
