New Delhi, Sep 23 (NationPress) Ravichandran Ashwin, the former all-rounder from India, is anticipated to join the International League T20 after registering for the auction, along with the Big Bash League this season.
As reported by ESPNCricinfo, Ashwin has garnered interest from multiple BBL franchises, including Hobart Hurricanes, Adelaide Strikers, Sydney Sixers, and Sydney Thunder.
Following his retirement from international cricket earlier in the year, Ashwin also stepped back from the Indian Premier League, making himself eligible for franchise tournaments abroad.
He had been in talks with the ILT20 organizers for a considerable time before finally signing up for the auction, set to take place on October 1.
The ILT20 is a six-team tournament held in the UAE, featuring franchises like Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals, Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, and Sharjah Warriors.
If Ashwin's bidding is successful, he will play for one of these six teams in the tournament.
Recently, Ashwin also registered for the Hong Kong Sixes tournament, with Cricket Hong Kong announcing his participation.
