Jaipur, April 28 (NationPress) Rajasthan Royals have secured the toss and opted to bowl first against Gujarat Titans in the 47th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
The Titans have recently lost their top position in the IPL standings, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking their spot after a victory over Delhi Capitals on Sunday, creating an opportunity for GT to reclaim their lead. Conversely, Rajasthan has slipped further down to ninth place following their defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad against Chennai Super Kings on Friday.
Throughout the season, the Royals have struggled with consistency and have faltered in crucial moments in their recent games. With Sanju Samson sidelined due to injury, stand-in captain Riyan Parag acknowledged the harsh realities of the IPL, announcing two changes: Maheesh Theekshana and Yudhvir Singh come in for Fazalhaq Farooqi and Tushar Deshpande.
“The wicket seems similar to the one we faced against LSG. It looks promising with some low bounce, and given the dew we witnessed last night, we chose to bowl first. Our players have experienced these challenges and know how to overcome them. We've had candid discussions and need to put together a solid performance for a favorable outcome. We've played well for 35 overs across our last three matches. That's the reality of the IPL,” stated Riyan Parag.
Skipper Shubman Gill confirmed that Karim Janat will be making his debut. Janat, an exciting bowling all-rounder from Afghanistan, brings valuable pace and batting contributions. The Titans signed him for INR 75 Lakh at the Auction, and his inclusion comes at the expense of Sherfane Rutherford.
“The wicket looks good with some grass, which is always a positive. We are focused on each game individually, avoiding dwelling on the past. It’s crucial to be ruthless in this format,” Gill remarked.
