Ahmedabad, April 8 (NationPress) Following three consecutive victories, the Gujarat Titans are determined to maintain their winning momentum against the Rajasthan Royals, who have experienced a mixed performance with two wins and two losses, in match 23 of the IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday.
Under the leadership of captain Shubman Gill, GT arrives home after a convincing seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Sanju Samson-led RR secured a 50-run win against Punjab Kings.
The GT bowling attack is boosted by the exceptional performances of pacer Mohammed Siraj and spinner Sai Kishore. Siraj, who achieved his career-best bowling figures of 4-17 in the last match, stands out as one of the most reliable new-ball bowlers this season.
Having claimed nine wickets in four matches, Siraj is currently tied for second place in the Purple Cap competition this season. Left-arm spinner Sai Kishore is also in the race, sitting joint-fourth with eight wickets.
However, GT must address the form of star spinner Rashid Khan, who has only taken one wicket in four matches, conceding over 10 runs per over.
In the batting lineup, wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler, along with Sai Sudharsan, Washington Sundar, and Sherfane Rutherford, played crucial roles in GT's last three victories and will aim to continue their strong performance against the Rajasthan bowlers.
Conversely, RR will benefit from Yashasvi Jaiswal regaining form in their previous match against Punjab Kings. The Rajasthan team must prioritize consistency in their batting. Apart from skipper Samson's 66 and Dhruv Jurel's 70 in the opening match, and Nitish Rana's 81 against CSK, no other batsman has shown remarkable form in the tournament thus far.
On the bowling side, Sandeep Sharma has shown consistency, while the team hopes for Jofra Archer to sustain his impressive form from the PBKS game, where he delivered a match-winning spell of 3-25.
Archer, who faced difficulties against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders this season, has been pivotal in RR's recent resurgence, following up his economical 1-13 against CSK with a Player of the Match performance against PBKS.
GT has the advantage in head-to-head records against RR, having won five out of six encounters.
