Madrid, March 25 (NationPress) Real Madrid is actively pursuing a pre-contract agreement with Trent Alexander-Arnold and aims to finalize the deal swiftly. The English wingback has been on the radar of Los Blancos for two years, and discussions are currently taking place between the two parties, hoping to settle an agreement before the season concludes.

If a deal is concluded, Real will be required to inform Liverpool about it, which has not yet occurred, as stated by The Athletic.

In October, Madrid identified Trent as their primary transfer target for the upcoming season. Los Blancos are looking to strengthen their defense at the end of the current season and have a keen interest in Trent, who will become a free agent in June.

Along with Trent, Mohammed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk are also nearing the end of their contracts. The trio has been integral to the Liverpool squad for nearly a decade, and the club risks losing them for free after failing to secure agreements.

Trent has made 349 appearances for his hometown club, scoring 22 goals and providing 87 assists.

Madrid certainly seeks to bolster their squad as they are currently dealing with a significant number of injuries, including Carvajal's ACL injury, which has sidelined him for the season, along with the absence of Ferlan Mendy and Eder Militao.

In an interview with ITV earlier this season, Arnold reflected, “There was a conversation I had when we were traveling to Ireland, on the coach down to the airport with (Crystal Palace’s Eberechi) Eze. I said, ‘There’s a chance that I may never win another trophy in my career. And there’s a chance I win many, many more.'”
