Rohit Sharma Reflects on Maximizing Time After Victory in Warm-Up Match

Canberra, Dec 1 (NationPress) India captain Rohit Sharma expressed his contentment with the shortened duration of their warm-up match following a six-wicket victory over the Australian Prime Minister's XI at Manuka Oval on Sunday.

The opening day of the two-day pink-ball match was completely washed out due to rain, restricting the match to 46 overs for each side, with additional rain impacting the second day.

Shubman Gill made a noteworthy comeback with a half-century after missing the first Test due to a left thumb injury. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul maintained their positions as openers despite Rohit’s return, allowing India to accomplish their objectives ahead of the pink-ball Test set to commence in Adelaide on December 6.

“Absolutely, it was wonderful. We achieved what we aimed for as a team. However, we were slightly unfortunate not to have the complete match. The first day was washed out. But we made the best of the time we had and extracted a lot from the conditions we faced,” Rohit remarked post-match.

Rohit, who was absent during the Perth Test where India triumphed by 295 runs, was excited by the considerable turnout of fans supporting the team during the warm-up match.

“It’s incredibly heartening. We enjoy coming to Australia, and it’s uplifting to see our fans here backing us. There has never been a time when we visited, and the crowd didn’t show up for us. It’s always wonderful to witness our supporters rallying behind India,” Rohit added.
