New Delhi, May 7 (NationPress) Roger Binny, President of the BCCI, celebrated Rohit Sharma's outstanding 11-year journey as a Test cricketer, emphasizing that he leaves behind a culture of discipline and selflessness that will motivate future generations to embrace the longer format of the game.

On Wednesday evening, Rohit announced his immediate retirement from Test cricket, confirming that he will continue to participate in ODIs. Over the course of 67 Tests, Rohit accumulated 4,301 runs with an average of 40.57, including 12 centuries and a highest score of 212.

His evolution from a middle-order batter to one of the most successful Test openers in contemporary cricket, alongside his role as India’s 35th Test captain, has been a remarkable journey. “Rohit Sharma’s influence on Indian cricket extends beyond mere records and statistics. He instilled a sense of calm and confidence within the team – both as a player and captain.”
