New Delhi, Feb 13 (NationPress) Carlos Sainz’s journey from Ferrari to Williams has commenced on a positive note, with the Spanish driver expressing admiration for his new team’s dedication and vitality during his initial days in the Williams garage. Fresh from his last race in red, Sainz quickly acclimated to his new environment, taking part in a filming session at Yas Marina before diving into testing activities the next day.

For Sainz, the transition from Ferrari’s iconic prancing horse to Williams’ distinguished blue and white was always going to be a major change, but what struck him most was the team's unwavering enthusiasm despite a challenging conclusion to their 2024 season.

During a recent Q&A with Team Principal James Vowles at the Williams factory, the four-time Grand Prix victor shared his first impressions.

“Honestly, very positive,” Sainz remarked about his initial days in Williams colors. “I believe we had a very effective two days of testing, and I am grateful to everyone who made that happen. The filming day on Monday significantly helped us dive straight into work on Tuesday, allowing me to utilize the full Abu Dhabi tyre test to my advantage—and to our advantage as a team.”

Williams faced a tough end to their 2024 season, with several crashes challenging the team’s determination. Yet, as Sainz stepped into his new garage, he found a team undaunted by challenges. “What impressed me the most was just how motivated everyone was,” he stated. “Even at the end of the year, after a difficult series of races, with a lot of hard work at the factory and on track to keep the two cars running, the enthusiasm was still there.

“I’ve participated in that Abu Dhabi test with other teams before, and I understand how drained people can become after a triple-header. But at Williams, I saw smiling faces everywhere. People were eager to be involved, wanted to collaborate, and aimed to make that test as positive as possible. Honestly, I was extremely impressed.”

For Sainz, those two days in Abu Dhabi were the ideal way to enter the winter break, confident that he had a team fully dedicated to making advancements in 2025. And now, the anticipation for his first Williams contender is nearly over. The team will unveil their FW47 in a custom livery at Silverstone on Friday (IST), followed by the grand unveiling of their race livery at the F1 75 Live event in The O2 on February 18.
