Salah Celebrates Comeback Victory but Emphasizes Humility: Liverpool's Win Against Leicester

Liverpool, Dec 27 (NationPress) Mohamed Salah celebrated a fantastic result for Liverpool as they achieved a comeback victory over Leicester City on Boxing Day. He expressed that the team will strive diligently to secure the Premier League title, a long-held aspiration of his.

The win allowed Liverpool to extend their Premier League lead to seven points following a 3-1 comeback against Leicester City.

"It's a good result, to be fair. They were very tough in the first half. The second half showed how well they prepared themselves before the game," Salah stated during an interview with Amazon Prime Video after the match. "The way they positioned themselves in front of the box made it challenging for us initially. However, we managed to score three goals, making it a great result," he commented.

Jordan Ayew gave the Foxes an early lead with a precise finish just six minutes into the game at Anfield, but after both Andy Robertson and Salah hit the post, Cody Gakpo leveled the score with a stunning long-range shot.

Reflecting on Gakpo's equalizer before half-time, Salah remarked, "It was brilliant. It boosted our confidence for the second half, motivating us to push for the win. When you're 1-0 down, the focus is on equalizing and getting that second goal. Scoring just before the half-time was pivotal. It's indeed a great result."

Just four minutes into the second half, Curtis Jones redirected Alexis Mac Allister’s cross to give the Reds the lead, and Salah sealed the match with a goal eight minutes from the final whistle.

"For me, the most important aspect is the team winning. I hope we can clinch the Premier League title, and I hope to have a significant impact. That would mean a lot to me. However, we must remain humble. We've faced injuries in the past when we were ahead and ended up losing. I hope to maintain this momentum without injuries and continue to strive for the title," Salah stated.

When asked about his motivation to win the championship this season, Salah replied, "This season is particularly special. I genuinely hope we can win the Premier League for this club—it's a dream of mine. I truly want to win the Premier League this year, and I am optimistic about it."
