New Delhi, Sep 10 (NationPress) Jadon Sancho, the English forward, is eager to make a strong impact at his new club. The England international has officially joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan and is prepared to transition into the defining years of his career.
Since his teenage years, Sancho has excelled at the elite level of club football, particularly during his impressive stint with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, before moving to Manchester United.
Last season, he was loaned to Chelsea, contributing to their success in the UEFA Europa Conference League by scoring in the final against Real Betis.
“Having played for such prestigious clubs, I feel ready to embrace the prime years of my career. I hope to bring that experience to Villa. I’m excited to get started,” Sancho stated during an interview with JioHotstar.
The 25-year-old also acknowledged the significant impact Unai Emery had on his decision to join Birmingham.
“Once I spoke with the manager, he instantly instilled confidence in me. He shared his vision and objectives for the season, which truly motivated me. He was a key factor in my decision. I’m looking forward to working with him,” Sancho expressed.
Adjusting to new surroundings shouldn't be an issue for Sancho, as he has previously played alongside Victor Lindelof, Villa's recent acquisition, during their time at Manchester United. Lindelof has made 284 appearances for United since joining from Benfica in the summer of 2017, winning both the Emirates FA Cup and League Cup during his tenure.
“Having shared a locker room with Victor for several years, it was great to see him as I arrived,” he noted.
Sancho also shared his enthusiasm about bonding with his new teammates and is eager to begin this chapter.
“I’ve played with Tyrone Mings for England, and I’m familiar with Ezri Konsa, Morgan Rogers, Ian Maatsen, and Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund. I can’t wait to connect with the boys and kick off this journey,” Sancho concluded.
