Mohali, Feb 28 (NationPress) Following an outstanding Indian Premier League (IPL) season last year, Punjab Kings’ dynamic batsman Shashank Singh is eager to wear the red jersey again and showcase his skills. He made headlines with his remarkable match-winning performances last season, which led to him being ranked ninth among the most searched athletes on Google worldwide in 2024.
He caught significant attention when he scored 61 not out off just 29 balls against Gujarat Titans, guiding his team to victory.
Commenting on this achievement, Shashank stated, “I was unaware that Google publishes a list of the most searched individuals globally. It’s quite a significant accomplishment, to be honest. I prefer celebrating quietly. But deep down, it feels rewarding knowing that people from India and around the world are searching for my name and recognizing my efforts.”
He attributed his success to his time with Punjab, saying, “This is possible due to the Punjab Kings. Many talented cricketers are performing at high levels, but the Punjab Kings have always believed in me and provided support. It’s true that I’ve also put in the hard work.”
Shashank, who was retained by the franchise this season, expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with his DY Patil T20 Cup teammates Shreyas Iyer and Suryansh Shedge at Punjab Kings.
“I am thrilled to reconnect with Shreyas, as we have played cricket together at the junior level. We were teammates in the DY Patil T20 Cup, and we have a solid bond.
