Gwalior Shernis stormed into the Eliminator of the women's draw at the MPL T20 Scindia Cup 2026 on 10 June, chasing down Royal Nimar Eagles' competitive total of 142/4 with a 6-wicket win at Daly College, Indore. Captain Nuzhat Parween anchored the chase with a composed half-century, extending her tournament dominance as the Orange Cap holder.

Royal Nimar Eagles' Innings

Put in to bat, the Eagles found themselves in early trouble at 4/2 inside the second over before Soniya Singh and Kalyani Jadhav mounted a stunning rescue act. The pair stitched together a 118-run partnership that completely transformed the innings.

Kalyani contributed a composed 68 off 60 balls before falling, while Soniya remained unbeaten on 61 off 49 deliveries — an innings laced with three sixes and seven boundaries — to guide the Eagles to 142/4 in their 20 overs. For the Shernis, Vani Partani was the standout with figures of 1/15 from four overs, while Muskan Mishra also chipped in with a wicket at minimal cost.

Gwalior Shernis' Chase

The Shernis' reply mirrored the Eagles' early wobble, losing quick wickets before Parween steadied the ship. She found a reliable partner in Soumya Tiwari, whose own half-century powered an 83-run stand that firmly shifted the momentum in Gwalior's favour.

Though Parween was eventually dismissed, the platform she built proved decisive. The Shernis crossed the line comfortably, wrapping up a convincing victory and booking their Eliminator berth.

Parween Speaks on the Win

Reflecting on the result, Parween — who now leads the tournament's run-scoring charts with 186 runs in four matches — said, 'We always believed that we could chase this target, especially on a red-soil wicket. Even though we lost an early wicket, I was confident that if I stayed at the crease, we would remain in the game. The atmosphere in the dressing room is very positive because we have come through some close matches in this tournament, and those experiences have taught us how to handle pressure situations.'

On the Eliminator ahead, she added, 'With the eliminator coming up, our focus will be on applying the lessons we've learnt so far. These youngsters are gaining valuable experience with every game, and I'm confident we will be better prepared if similar situations arise again.'

Gwalior Shernis will face Bundelkhand Bulls in the Eliminator on 12 June at Holkar Stadium, Indore. The winner of that contest will meet Chambal Ghariyals in the final on 13 June at the same venue.
