Chambal Ghariyals were crowned champions of the MPL T20 Scindia Cup 2026 on 27 June, defeating Royal Nimar Eagles by 31 runs in the final at Holkar Stadium in Indore. The victory completed a historic double for the franchise, with both the men's and women's teams finishing the tournament unbeaten.

A Commanding Total

Put in to bat, Chambal Ghariyals posted an imposing 224/5 in their 20 overs. Openers Harsh Dixit and Ankush Singh gave the innings a brisk start, adding 35 runs in just 3.4 overs before both departed cheaply — Dixit for 32 off 18 and Ankush for 12 off 9 — leaving the side at 45/2.

Apurve Dwivedi and captain Shubham Sharma then steadied and accelerated the innings with an 83-run third-wicket partnership. Dwivedi was the dominant partner, hammering 51 off 25 deliveries including five sixes, before being dismissed. Sharma continued to anchor the innings, adding another 47 runs alongside Tripuresh Singh before departing for a composed 57 off 38 balls.

Tripuresh Singh finished unbeaten on 43 off 24 balls, striking three fours and three sixes, with Rohit Gupta chipping in with a cameo of 17 off 7 deliveries to power Chambal to their formidable total.

Eagles Fall Short in the Chase

Chasing 225, Royal Nimar Eagles began at a furious pace. Dharmesh Patel and Himanshu Mantri plundered 21 runs off the opening over, smashing three sixes off Avesh Khan. However, Chambal struck back when Tripuresh Singh trapped Dharmesh Patel lbw for 17 off 8 balls.

Mantri, who had earlier been dropped off a return catch by Aman Bhadoriya, stitched a 35-run stand with Kanishk Dubey before Bhadoriya cleaned up Dubey for 21 off 10 balls. The Eagles lost wickets at regular intervals thereafter and fell steadily behind the required rate.

Abhishek Mavi fought a lone hand with an unbeaten 73 off 39 deliveries, but received little support from the lower order. Mayur Patel was the pick of Chambal's bowlers, returning figures of 2/21 from his four overs. The Eagles were eventually restricted to 193/7, handing Chambal Ghariyals victory by 31 runs.

The Historic Double

The men's triumph came on the heels of the Chambal Ghariyals women's team lifting the MPL T20 Scindia Cup title with an unbeaten run of their own — making this the first time in the tournament's history that both teams from the same franchise have won their respective titles in the same edition while remaining undefeated throughout.
