The former world champion expressed her regret over not having made the trip to Baramati, despite the numerous invitations extended by the NCP chief.

Amid the ongoing elections for the Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis, Dy CM Ajit Pawar was en route from Mumbai to Baramati to participate in a public gathering when the tragic accident occurred around 9 a.m., just an hour after takeoff, resulting in the loss of Pawar and five others.

"Rest in peace, Ajit Dada. I had the honor of meeting you on several occasions, and each time I was impressed by your discipline, work ethic, and the affection you held for your people.

"You often urged me, 'Come to my Baramati.' I kept thinking there would be time. I never anticipated I would regret not visiting like this," Sindhu shared in an X post.

"My deepest condolences to the families of Captain Shambhavi Pathak, Captain Sumit Kapoor, Pinky Mali, and PSO Videep Jadhav. So many lives lost. So many families shattered.

"May God grant everyone the strength to endure this," she further expressed.

Pawar represented the Baramati Assembly constituency for an impressive seven consecutive terms since 1991, consistently winning by substantial margins.
