New Delhi, Nov 28 (NationPress) Indian spinner Sree Charani shared her overwhelming joy upon being secured by Delhi Capitals for Rs 1.3 crore in the WPL 2026 auction on Thursday, marking her return for the upcoming season.
Charani initially made her WPL debut with Delhi Capitals in 2025, having been selected for Rs 55 lakh during the auction of 2024.
"Before the auction, I was merely wishing to play in WPL this season with any team. However, I am extremely happy to be back with Delhi Capitals. It truly feels like home, and I thoroughly enjoy playing for this team,” she remarked during an interview on JioHotstar.
As for her aspirations upon rejoining Delhi Capitals, the 21-year-old expressed, "I feel a great sense of pride to be part of Delhi Capitals again. This opportunity allows me to contribute to the team once more. I am thankful to be back with DC and am looking forward to an exciting season ahead. I’m just hoping for the best for our team."
Besides Sree, Delhi Capitals made notable acquisitions in the auction, including South African captain Laura Wolvaardt, West Indies all-rounder Chinelle Henry, and Indian star Sneh Rana.
Sneh conveyed her confidence about the upcoming season, stating that Sree’s selection was among the best by the team. "Our team combination appears strong, well-organized, and promising.
