WPL: Captain Lanning Praises Depth of Delhi Capitals with New Signings

New Delhi, Dec 17 (NationPress) The captain of the Delhi Capitals, Meg Lanning, has expressed her enthusiasm about the latest additions to their roster and praised the team’s overall depth as they prepare for the WPL 2025 season.

During the auction held in Bengaluru on Sunday, Delhi welcomed wicket-keeper batters Nandini Kashyap and Sarah Bryce, all-rounder N Charani, and Niki Prasad, the captain of India U19.

"I’m truly looking forward to the upcoming season of the WPL. I want to extend a warm welcome to Nandini, Niki, Charani, and Sarah to our DC Team. The squad is filled with exceptional depth and thrilling talent. I can't wait to participate in the tournament and to play in front of our dedicated fans,” stated Captain Lanning.

From Malaysia, where she is leading India in the inaugural U19 Asia Cup, Niki Prasad shared, "I watched the auction alongside my teammates, and when my name was called by DC, we were all overjoyed. My family is also thrilled. I’m eager to share the dressing room with the legendary Meg Lanning and Jemimah Rodrigues."

“I’m absolutely thrilled to join the Delhi Capitals this season. I look forward to being in the same dressing room with some phenomenal players,” added N Sree Charani, who was acquired for Rs 55 lakh after a competitive bidding process with the Mumbai Indians.

The Delhi Capitals have been the runners-up in both seasons of the Women’s Premier League.
