New Delhi, April 3 (NationPress) The Pro Kabaddi League successfully organized the 'PKL Level Up' player development workshop aimed at enhancing kabaddi players beyond their performance on the mat.

This groundbreaking initiative marked a significant achievement in professional kabaddi, uniting industry experts to provide players with essential life skills, personal branding, and professional advancement opportunities. The workshop exemplified the league's dedication to fostering its athletes and ensuring their success both professionally and personally.

The event showcased an outstanding lineup of speakers, including Olympic bronze medallist PR Sreejesh, Alpi Chaudhari from Meta India, renowned content creator Deepak Pareek, Neha Mathur Rastogi, CEO and founder of WordsWork Communications Consulting, a top company for sports media relations in India, and Dr. Chaitanya Sridhar, a distinguished Sports and Depth Psychologist from the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS-JSW Sports). The program aimed to empower players with knowledge and tools for comprehensive development.

The workshop encompassed special sessions designed to assist players in effectively managing social media and preparing for media interviews and press conferences.

In his remarks on becoming better athletes, PR Sreejesh stated, "When you win, people remember you, but true growth arises from the matches we do not win. That is where we discover what adjustments to make next time. The ultimate truth in sports is straightforward: never give up. After each failure comes regret, but those who are persistent, those who work harder on improvement, are the ones who ultimately succeed."

"However, life extends beyond what happens during matches - your actions off the field hold significance too. How you interact with family, how you present yourself on social media, and the values you exhibit in daily life all contribute to your identity as an athlete," he added during his session.

The Indian hockey legend also underlined the importance of teamwork, stating, "Teamwork is vital - one person's error affects the entire team, which is why mutual understanding becomes paramount. What transpires on the field remains there; once the match concludes, we revert to being friends because respect is the cornerstone of sportsmanship."

Dr. Chaitanya Sridhar, who has over 20 years of experience mentoring elite athletes, including Olympic medallists, made history as the first female Sports Psychologist in the IPL with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. She highlighted the significance of mental fitness for athletes: "Given that sports careers are relatively brief, maintaining mental fitness and coping with high-pressure situations is essential. It was valuable to witness players reflect during our interactive sessions. The time athletes have for recovery from an injury or during periods of underperformance is limited, so staying mentally prepared is crucial for their success."

“Our players are the foundation upon which the sport is built. Their performance on the mat and off it is vital as it establishes a benchmark for aspiring kabaddi players envisioning a future in this sport,” expressed Anupam Goswami, League Commissioner of the Pro Kabaddi League.

“As seasons progress, such initiatives are vital because the evolution of how fans perceive kabaddi rests on our players' shoulders. This workshop was a small step towards that goal,” he added.

The ‘PKL Level Up’ workshop included several key players like Pardeep Narwal, Ashu Malik, and Sachin Tanwar, who actively participated in sessions concentrating on leadership, communication skills, personal branding, and career management.
