New Delhi, March 23 (NationPress) The inspirational words from Prime Minister Narendra Modi have likely played a significant role in propelling India to victory in both the Champions Trophy and the T20 World Cup, as stated by former Indian captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth in a video shared on social media this Sunday. Srikkanth, a member of the victorious 1983 World Cup squad known as Kapil's Devils, emphasized that the most remarkable quality of PM Modi is his ability to make everyone he encounters feel valued and at ease.

In the video, Srikkanth, affectionately known as Chika, remarked, "The encouraging words from the Prime Minister have likely contributed to India's triumph in the Champions Trophy and the T20 World Cup."

He reminisced about his interactions with PM Modi over the years, including watching a T20I match between India and Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad together.

"I have had the privilege of meeting the Honorary Prime Minister several times. What stands out the most is how he makes you feel comfortable during conversations. You don't feel overawed by his status as the Prime Minister or Chief Minister; he is simply approachable," recounted the 65-year-old former opener.

"He is so laid-back, and if you wish to discuss anything, he ensures you feel relaxed. You won't feel intimidated when speaking with him," Srikkanth added. "His greatest quality is his ability to make people feel significant and at home," he stated.

Srikkanth also mentioned his exchanges with the Prime Minister via WhatsApp, highlighting an instance where he received prompt replies.

"After congratulating him for his 2024 election victory through a WhatsApp message to his secretary, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a response. I hadn’t sent a formal email or letter; it was just a casual message. Receiving a reply was truly remarkable. Such moments are treasures in my life. His ability to engage in conversation and make you feel valued is his biggest strength," he expressed.

"In 2014, during a significant event at the University Auditorium in Chennai, he spotted me and called out, 'Srikkanthji aao, aao.' As a Prime Ministerial candidate, he was on stage, yet he took the time to acknowledge me. The entire audience was applauding. That’s the greatness of this man. We spent nearly three hours watching a T20I match between India and Sri Lanka. Although India lost, PM Modi remained unconcerned and visited the dressing room to boost the morale of the players.

"He personally spoke to each cricketer, reassuring them, 'Don’t worry, it’s all good.' Even after a loss, his support matters greatly, especially as a cricketer. These small gestures are what inspire people. Following that match, India clinched the T20 World Cup in November 2023 and then won the Champions Trophy in March 2025.

"I genuinely believe that the encouraging words from the Prime Minister have likely fueled India’s success in the Champions Trophy and the T20 World Cup. Such encouragement from the country's leader can provide significant motivation. His commitment to physical fitness through yoga and meditation keeps his mind sharp," concluded Srikkanth.
