San Francisco, April 25 (NationPress) The San Francisco Unicorns have officially signed New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert to enhance their lineup for the 2025 Major League Cricket season. Seifert brings a substantial amount of experience, boasting 66 T20I caps and more than 250 franchise appearances with notable teams such as the Kolkata Knight Riders, Melbourne Renegades, and Northern Districts in New Zealand.
Acquired for his exceptional abilities both as a batsman and a wicketkeeper, Seifert holds a T20I average exceeding 28 with an impressive strike rate of 142. His recruitment comes on the heels of a stellar performance in New Zealand’s T20 series against Pakistan, where he emerged as the top scorer, amassing 249 runs at an average of 62 while partnering with fellow Unicorns’ player Finn Allen.
Recognized for his versatile batting skills, Seifert is expected to provide swift starts for the Unicorns, complementing aggressive batsmen like Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matt Short. He will also support captain and former NZ international Corey Anderson in tactical decisions on the field.
