Australia currently leads the series 2-0, having recently triumphed in the second Test. The Australian audience will also be closely watching the IPL auction, with numerous current and former Australian players involved.
Cameron Green, predicted to attract significant interest during the auction, heads a list of 19 Australians, alongside notable names such as Josh Inglis, Matthew Short, Cooper Connolly, and Beau Webster.
A total of 350 players are expected to participate in the IPL 2026 mini auction on December 16 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, as the BCCI unveiled the Player Auction list for the 2026 season on Tuesday.
From an initial pool of 1390 registered players, 350 have been shortlisted for the auction.
Out of the shortlisted players, 240 are Indian and 110 hail from overseas. This group features 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped international players, enriching the auction with new talent and depth.
Franchises will vie for a total of 77 available slots, which includes 31 designated for overseas players.
Notably, 40 players have set the maximum base price at Rs 2 crore, with Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi being the only two Indians listed at this price point.
Previously, 173 players were retained across teams, including 49 from overseas. A total purse of Rs 237.55 crore will be accessible during the auction for 77 player slots.
