New Delhi, Sep 1 (NationPress)  The West Delhi Lions clinched the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 title in spectacular fashion, overcoming the Central Delhi Kings by six wickets during a thrilling final at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. Captain Nitish Rana once again showcased his prowess, delivering a match-winning performance with an unbeaten 79 that propelled his team to victory.

In pursuit of 174 runs, the Lions faced an early setback as the Kings' bowlers, Simarjeet Singh and Arun Pundir, struck decisively, leaving the Lions at a precarious 48/3 by the fifth over. The pressure of the final was palpable, but Captain Rana rose to the challenge. Together with Mayank Gusain, he steadied the ship with a vital 42-run partnership. Gusain (15 off 11) was dismissed by Tejas Baroka, but Rana had already taken charge of the innings.

Rana then partnered with Hrithik Shokeen, ensuring that no further wickets fell. However, the momentum shifted dramatically when Yugal Saini and Pranshu Vijayran formed a crucial partnership. The duo exhibited resilience, skill, and strategic shot selection, putting together a game-changing 78-run stand for the seventh wicket.

Yugal anchored the innings with a determined 65 off 48 balls, combining steady scoring with timely boundaries. Meanwhile, Pranshu was the aggressor, finishing with a brilliant unbeaten 50 off just 24 deliveries. His fearless batting in the death overs not only helped the Kings recover but also provided them with significant momentum, silencing the Lions' early advantage.
