Ranchi, July 3 (NationPress) In the opening matches of the 15th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women's National Championship 2025, Himachal, Assam, Karnataka, and Manipur emerged victorious at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium in the capital of Jharkhand on Thursday.
Additionally, Hockey Gujarat also enjoyed a successful start on Day 1, while Telangana Hockey played to a 2-2 draw against Hockey Jammu & Kashmir.
The tournament kicked off with Himachal overpowering Hockey Rajasthan with a score of 7-0 in Division 'C'. Navneet Kaur (17', 37', 55') opened the scoring with a hattrick, supported by Riya (9', 57') who netted twice, and Palak Chaudhary (28') and Sonam (31') each contributing a goal to secure a strong win.
In the second match, Assam triumphed over Goans Hockey with a score of 7-1 in Division 'C'. Ritika Tigga (3', 44', 48') and Jyoshna Ekka (32', 49', 59') each scored hattricks, while Tanya Chaurasiya (37') added another for Assam.
