Dubai, July 15 (NationPress) The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the schedule for the upcoming warm-up matches prior to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Co-hosts India will face off against England and New Zealand in Bengaluru.
All eight teams that have secured their spots in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will participate in these practice matches. Each team is slated to play two warm-up games, with the exception of Australia, which will compete in just one.
The warm-up matches will take place at four venues: Centre of Excellence Ground and M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, along with R. Premadasa Stadium and Colombo Cricket Club Ground in Colombo.
Additionally, India 'A' and Sri Lanka 'A' will also be part of the warm-up fixtures, with India 'A' participating in one match and Sri Lanka 'A' in two.
The warm-up games commence on September 25, featuring the 2017 finalists India and England going head-to-head, while South Africa takes on New Zealand in Bengaluru. Simultaneously in Colombo, Sri Lanka clashes with Pakistan, and Bangladesh faces Sri Lanka ‘A’.
The second round of warm-up matches is scheduled for September 27, with Australia battling England in their only game. Concurrently, Sri Lanka will challenge Bangladesh, and India will meet New Zealand.
The final set of warm-up fixtures will take place on September 28, featuring South Africa against India ‘A’ and Pakistan facing Sri Lanka ‘A’.
