Mumbai, Feb 7 (NationPress) Actress Bhumika Gurung, currently featured in the television show ‘Bas Itna Sa Khwab’, is preparing to make her debut in Hindi cinema with ‘The Secret Of Devkaali’. She discussed her unique gothic and dark look, revealing that her skin tone was modified to align with the film’s color scheme.

Describing her appearance in the movie, she stated: ”I can’t share too many details right now, but it’s unlike anything I’ve done before. The aesthetic is gothic and dark. My skin tone was adjusted to fit the film’s color scheme and the ambiance of the Kabila (tribe) I represent in the narrative.”

“The make-up, hair, jewelry, and outfits were exclusively crafted to fit the film’s visual style. I was absolutely enamored with my look, which significantly enhanced my character. The first time I saw myself in the mirror was an unexpected delight.”

Bhumika takes on the role of an antagonist named Mudra, who commands an entire tribe or Kabila.

Reflecting on the film’s pace, she mentioned that everything unfolded rapidly.

“Once I agreed to the film, I found myself on set, ready to begin shooting. The excitement was immense, especially since I didn’t have scenes with the esteemed Sanjay Mishra, who is also in the cast.”

For Bhumika, this project represented a significant opportunity, as she has always admired not just stars but also talented actors.

“Sanjay Mishra is someone I hold in high regard.” She expressed a desire to share screen time with him one day.

The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Prashant Narayanji, Sanjay Mishra, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Zarina Wahab.

Regarding her co-stars, she noted that she hadn’t worked with many of them.

“However, those I did work with were incredibly skilled. The director, producer, and lead actor, Niraj Chauhan, were exceptional. Niraj is extraordinarily talented, and I am eager for the audience to experience his performance alongside the rest of us.”

She added that this film is evolving into a memorable experience.

“The director motivated us to give our best, which meant numerous retakes, voice modulation, and fine-tuning body language and expressions. It was not just about capturing the right take; it was about immersing oneself deeply into the role, which was a profound learning experience for me as an actress.”

When asked about her debut on the big screen, she remarked: ”Making a big-screen debut is a dream for every actor, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have this chance. I am eagerly anticipating the film’s release in theaters. I believe that negative roles are crucial for a film’s success, adding layers and thrill.”

“Personally, I find portraying villains to be more creative and fulfilling. I would love to take on more negative roles in the future while also balancing positive characters.”
