Mumbai, Jan 27 (NationPress) Riding high on the success of "Pushpa 2: The Rule", Rashmika Mandanna is set to portray Maharani Yesubai in the eagerly anticipated "Chhaava", alongside Vicky Kaushal. As she garners acclaim for her role in this historical film, Rashmika shared insights into her approach to characterization.

Reflecting on the complexities of adapting to a character, Rashmika stated, “Switching roles is challenging, especially when I’m juggling three to four films simultaneously. I have come to understand that yielding to my directors and co-actors is incredibly beneficial. Trying to manage everything on my own tends to leave a trace of ‘you’ in the character. However, when I trust my director and co-actors completely, their expertise and assurance enhance my performance.”

The 'Animal' actress further elaborated, “Naturally, a part of you remains in the character since it’s your feelings and thoughts interpreting everything. Nevertheless, you conceal that with what the director has scripted and the dynamic energy brought by your co-actors, which ultimately shapes the character.”

Meanwhile, "Chhaava" is a film adaptation of the Marathi novel "Chhava" by Shivaji Sawant, highlighting the political upheaval following the death of Shivaji Maharaj when Shivaji Sambhaji assumed control of the empire.

Starring Vicky Kaushal as Shivaji Sambhaji, "Chhaava" also features Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Shahenshah Aurangzeb, Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite, Divya Dutta as Soyarabai, and Diana Penty as Zinat-un-Nissa Begum, daughter of Aurangzeb.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, "Chhaava" is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025.

In addition to "Chhaava", Rashmika Mandanna will appear in several significant releases this year, including "Kubera" featuring Dhanush, "Sikandar" alongside Salman Khan, "Rainbow" with Dev Mohan, "Thama" with Ayushmann Khurrana, "Animal Park" featuring Ranbir Kapoor, "Pushpa 3" with Allu Arjun, and "The Girlfriend".
