Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Nov 4 (NationPress) Actor Abhishek Banerjee has revisited his cherished character Jana within the expansive Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. He expressed that it has been a remarkably special journey to witness the transformation of this quirky character from Stree into a crucial element that intertwines numerous narratives.
In a discussion with IANS, Abhishek stated: “The most remarkable aspect of portraying Jana is how he has organically developed across each film in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. When I first characterized him in Stree, none of us anticipated that this simple, quirky individual would evolve into such a significant thread linking multiple stories.”
The actor attributes the success of Jana to Amar Kaushik, Dinesh Vijan, Niren Bhatt, and the entire writing team for crafting him into an essential character across films including the Stree franchise, Bhediya, Munjya, and Thamma.
“They’ve successfully preserved Jana’s essence while seamlessly integrating him into various worlds, tones, and timelines. Each time I return to him, I’m astonished at how they maintain his relevance to the narrative, ensuring he remains humorous without feeling forced,” Abhishek remarked.
He believes that Jana naturally fits within this universe.
“As an actor, having the opportunity to embody one character over several films is rare, and I feel incredibly fortunate that audiences continue to crave more of him. Jana’s journey is as unpredictable and entertaining as the universe itself,” Abhishek added.
Recently, Jana appeared in the film ‘Thamma’, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. This vampire-themed film follows a journalist, played by Ayushmann, embroiled in a power struggle involving vampires portrayed by Rashmika and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Set in a fictional realm, ‘Thamma’ also includes Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rashmika Mandanna, and features a crossover with Varun Dhawan’s ‘Bhediya’. This film is part of the larger Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, connecting it to Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya.
