Mumbai, Jan 16 (NationPress) Actor Abhishek Banerjee, recognized for his roles in ‘Stree’, ‘Bhediya’, and the upcoming ‘Stree 2’, is preparing for the launch of the new season of his OTT series ‘Paatal Lok’. He has penned two episodes for this latest installment.
Interestingly, Abhishek is not appearing in the show as an actor this time. Season 2 of ‘Paatal Lok’ promises a riveting crime thriller set against the backdrop of Nagaland. The storyline follows the protagonist Hathi Ram Chaudhary (played by Jaideep Ahlawat) as he collaborates with his partner Imran Ansari (portrayed by Ishwak Singh) to unravel the enigma surrounding a migrant worker's alarming disappearance linked to a dangerous drug cartel. As the plot thickens, Hathi Ram faces a labyrinth of secrets while contending with systemic corruption and formidable foes, all while grappling with personal demons.
The investigation strains Hathi Ram’s relationships, challenging his resilience. With the truth proving elusive and the stakes climbing, Season 2 guarantees an exhilarating, nail-biting experience.

Previously, Sudip Sharma, the series' creator and showrunner, shared insights with IANS, stating that Hathi Ram Chaudhary embodies a spiritually advanced character.
He mentioned, “Hathi Ram Chaudhary is a very spiritually evolved man. But you don't see him like that. When we talk of spiritually evolved characters, we think of characters who have very complex philosophies. Hathi Ram is not that. He is very clear about his right and wrong. He has a very strong moral compass, and he sticks to that. No force in the world can ever make him change his stance on that. If this is right, then it is right. If this is wrong, then it is wrong.”
Sudip added, “No matter who you are, standing in front of him, telling him to do the other thing or to look the other way, he is not going to do that. And that's what I really like about him. So when someone says that Hathi Ram looks exactly the same, he hasn't changed or he behaves the same, he has already reached that place in life. He has already found this zen space that we all hope to find in our lives. He doesn't have restlessness in him. Hathi Ram has a firmness in him.”
The highly anticipated second season is set to premiere on Prime Video on January 17.
