Shirdi, Jan 19 (NationPress) NCP President and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday initiated the preparations for the forthcoming local and civic body elections in Maharashtra, encouraging the party members to mobilize with a commitment to sustain the party's success, particularly following the impressive victory in the recent Assembly elections.
During his concluding address at the two-day Navsankalp Shibir held here, Ajit Pawar, joined by working president Praful Patel, state chief Sunil Tatkare, and former minister Dilip Walse Patil, emphasized, "We must ensure that the future is dominated by the NCP."
Ajit Pawar instructed party members on how to prepare for the local and civic elections, urging them to enhance voter outreach, improve communication, and focus on fortifying the party structure. “With municipal and local body elections approaching, every candidate seeking a ticket or party position should appoint a worker responsible for engaging with 25 households. With an average of four votes per household, the party can connect with 100 voters. The elections for municipalities and Nagar Panchayats will be organized by wards. It’s essential for party leaders and workers to execute electoral management meticulously to secure seats and strengthen local representation,” he stated.
Specifically addressing the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation elections, Ajit Pawar indicated the implementation of a four-member ward system. “Candidates must assemble a team of 50 workers in each ward, leading to a collective force of 200 individuals to support the party,” he noted.
He continued, “With effective planning, we can achieve significant benefits in the upcoming local body elections. Party workers must act promptly to foster growth. To solidify the party’s standing, young men and women should be given opportunities to contribute. Remember, the future is meant for the NCP.”
He urged every office-bearer and party member to focus on expanding the party's influence in their villages, displaying the NCP flag and posters in every area. The party’s ideology should permeate every household.
He encouraged leaders and workers to rise early to commence their duties. “It’s important to take note of this. I once believed I was an early riser, but during an interaction with Mahayuti legislators on January 15 in Mumbai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed he sleeps only three and a half hours, waking at 3:30 a.m. to practice Yoga daily,” he remarked. He stressed that party leaders and workers should adhere to a schedule and dedicate time to organizational tasks.
