Lucknow, Dec 31 (NationPress) The President of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Akhilesh Yadav, has vehemently criticized the BJP-led government in Uttar Pradesh, asserting that there has been a total breakdown of law and order and that criminals are freely operating with political protection.
In his statement, the former Chief Minister indicated that hooliganism and anarchy have escalated to alarming proportions throughout the state.
"Criminals are moving about unchecked, thanks to the backing of those in power, and law and order have entirely disintegrated. Harassment is rampant, affecting both ordinary citizens and tourists, which continues to damage the reputation of Uttar Pradesh on national and international stages," he noted.
Akhilesh Yadav accused the ruling BJP of granting free rein to goons and mafia elements, enabling them to dominate the police and administrative systems.
"In various locations, weapons are being handed out openly, tourists are facing assaults, and women and girls are enduring harassment. Under these conditions, Uttar Pradesh can no longer claim to be a safe state," he emphasized.
The SP leader further asserted that the authority of the police has been gravely compromised and that the rule of law is being blatantly ridiculed.
"The Chief Minister and his administration remain silent on the activities of these anarchic forces. The BJP's much-publicized 'zero tolerance' policy has utterly failed and is now nothing more than empty rhetoric," he claimed.
Akhilesh Yadav pointed out that the government has plunged the state into chaos, leading to a climate of fear and insecurity among the populace.
"The BJP administration has entirely failed to protect the safety of women and girls," he added.
Expressing deep concern over the current situation, the SP President questioned when and against whom action will be initiated.
"Who will take action against those propagating violent ideologies, distributing weapons door to door, and threatening the unity and social harmony of the nation?" he asked.
