Mumbai, Dec 3 (NationPress) The renowned Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is filled with joy and emotion as his niece Simar Bhatia prepares to embark on her cinematic journey with the film Ikkis, helmed by Sriram Raghavan. As the release date approaches, the proud uncle took to social media to share his heartfelt feelings about Simar's debut. Alongside a poster featuring Simar from Ikkis, Akshay expressed, “From holding you as a tiny baby to witnessing you step into the film industry… life truly has come full circle.”
He continued, “Simar, I’ve watched you transform from a shy little girl, hiding behind your mother, into this self-assured young woman, ready to embrace the camera as if you were destined for it. The journey may be tough, but knowing you, you'll enter it with that same spark, honesty, and relentless determination that defines our family.”
To further uplift her spirits, he added, “Our family motto is simple: work hard, do it with passion, and then watch the magic of the universe unfold.” He expressed immense pride in her accomplishments and referred to her as a ‘star’. “I’m incredibly proud of you, beta… The world is about to discover Simar Bhatia… But to me, you’ve always been a star. Go shine! Jai Mahadev,” he concluded, tagging Simar in his post.
Earlier this year, Airlift had announced Simar Bhatia's Bollywood entry, sharing a newspaper cutout that featured her in an article titled “The Batch of 2025.” In his post, he reminisced about the first time he saw his photo on a newspaper cover, stating, “I thought that was the peak of happiness. But now, I realize that seeing your child’s photo brings a joy that surpasses everything. I wish my mom were here today; she would have said, ‘Simar puttar, tu toh kamaal hai.’ Bless you, my baby; the sky is yours.”
The film directed by Sriram Raghavan will see Simar Bhatia alongside Agastya Nanda and the late icon Dharmendra. Ikkis is described as a war drama that shares the inspiring story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his valor during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.
