Mumbai, April 17 (NationPress) Actors Ali Fazal and Sonali Bendre have initiated production on a new web series set in New Delhi, under the direction of Prosit Roy.
The series is said to revolve around the notorious figures Ranga and Billa, implicated in a chilling 1978 incident in Delhi, where they kidnapped and murdered two teenagers, Sanjay and Geeta Chopra.
A production insider revealed, “The team has been delving into the case comprehensively for several months. The series, which has begun filming in the capital, will depict the aftermath of the murder case. It is being approached with care and intends to illustrate the profound effect the case had on Delhi. The filming is currently taking place in various locations throughout the city.”
This forthcoming series aspires to detail the crime and its repercussions on the community of Delhi during that period, providing an investigative perspective on the events that followed the homicides. The two children were taken by Kuljeet Singh, referred to as Ranga, and Jasbir Singh, known as Billa, who initially aimed to steal a car but altered their plans upon discovering the children inside.

On April 15, Ali discussed the challenges of balancing his role in 'Rakht Brahmand' with the real-life-inspired character in Prosit Roy’s crime thriller. He remarked that the mental shift between the two roles is significant.
Ali stated, “I have always been captivated by narratives that challenge my boundaries. Rakhtbrahmand is a grand period drama, a genre I’ve never tackled at this scale, while Prosit Roy’s thriller is raw and powerful.”
