Jammu, Jan 9 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah convened a comprehensive security review meeting regarding Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi, focusing on strategies to diminish the entire terror infrastructure.
After Thursday's meeting, Union Minister Shah shared on X, "Led a security review meeting for Jammu and Kashmir alongside Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Ji."
He commended the security agencies for their efforts in dismantling the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir while advancing PM Narendra Modi's vision for enduring peace in the region.
Shah reiterated that counterterror operations aimed at obliterating terrorist infrastructure and disrupting financing will proceed in a mission-oriented approach.
The primary agenda of the review was to eradicate terrorists in the elevated areas of Jammu and Kashmir while ensuring zero infiltration across the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border.
This marked the first security review meeting led by the Union Home Minister in 2026.
During the discussions, Shah emphasized the need to dismantle the support systems that bolster terrorism, necessitating coordinated efforts against terrorists, their associates, sympathizers, and drug trafficking, which financially sustains terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, as per official sources.

Recent operations targeting terrorists of Pakistani origin, backed by Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence, were among the topics discussed.
