Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Jan 21 (NationPress) Beginning February 3, nature enthusiasts will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty and grandeur of a diverse collection of saplings, plants, and shrubs found in Amrit Udyan, located within the magnificent Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Known previously as the Mughal Gardens, Amrit Udyan opens its gates to the public each Spring when the flora is at its vibrant peak. This year, the garden will be accessible from February 3 until March 31, welcoming visitors six days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to enjoy the stunning beauty of its plant life.
In a bid to enhance the visitor experience, a novel method for plant identification has been implemented.
“The Amrit Udyan has introduced QR codes for identifying various plant species, enabling visitors to access comprehensive details about each one, including botanical names and descriptions,” states a notification from the Rashtrapati Bhavan portal.
“This innovative method not only increases visitor engagement but also acts as an educational resource, fostering awareness and appreciation for the garden's diverse plant life,” it further adds.
Amrit Udyan is recognized as one of the country’s most meticulously maintained gardens. Covering over 15 acres, this serene haven provides a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Its vast collection of trees, shrubs, and seasonal blossoms offers a visual delight, celebrating nature's artistry throughout the year.
The garden features several sections, including the Central Lawn, Long Garden, Circular Garden, Musical Garden, Spiritual Garden, Sensory Garden/Tactile Garden, and Arogya Vanam.
Visitors can explore the garden free of charge, with booking options available online or via registration kiosks located near the entrance. To facilitate easy access, shuttle bus services run from the nearest metro station, ensuring a comfortable journey for all.
