Spanning 15 acres, Amrit Udyan is considered the heart of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. It originally consisted of the East Lawn, Central Lawn, Long Garden, and Circular Garden, but has been expanded during the tenures of Presidents Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Ram Nath Kovind.

The gardens now boast a variety of themed areas, including Bal Vatika, a specially designed children's garden featuring a 225-year-old Sheesham tree, a treehouse, and Nature’s Classroom.

Additionally, there are the Bonsai Garden and Circular Gardens, showcasing a variety of flora and fauna; landscaped regions with a gentle water stream, cascades, sculptural spouts, stepping stones, and a raised reflecting pool; a peaceful Banyan Grove with reflexology paths; panchtatva trails; a forest-inspired atmosphere; and a tranquil Plumeria Garden adorned with grass mounds and curated plants for an immersive sensory experience.

This edition of the Udyan features over 42 varieties of summer annual flowers, adding vibrant hues to the historic landscape.

Previously known as the Mughal Gardens, Amrit Udyan is located in the center of Lutyens’ Delhi within the Rashtrapati Bhavan complex, which serves as the official residence of the President of India.

Regarded as one of the most stunning gardens globally, it stands as a testament to India’s rich horticultural heritage.
