Amaravati, Nov 7 (NationPress) The Andhra Pradesh State Investments Promotion Board convened on Friday to endorse investment proposals amounting to more than Rs 1 lakh crore. During its 12th meeting, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the board sanctioned investments totaling Rs 1,01,899 crore across 26 industries, which is projected to generate employment for 85,870 individuals.
This recent approval brings the state’s cumulative investments to Rs 8,08,899 crore, facilitating job opportunities for 7,05,870 lakh individuals, as per the official announcement.
In his address, the Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure that all industries commence as planned. He emphasized the establishment of 15 industrial zones for clustered industrial growth and urged officials to leverage central government incentives to foster industry.
CM Naidu highlighted the importance of a land bank to support industrial growth and encouraged landowners to offer their land to potential investors.
He proposed that Visakhapatnam be developed into a megacity, expanding to include Vizianagaram and Anakapalli. Additionally, he advocated for the development of Amaravati and Tirupati to enhance tourism and IT.
With several IT firms expressing interest in Visakhapatnam following Google's announcement to establish an AI data centre, the city must be prepared with the required infrastructure, he added.
Three IAS officers will be designated for the three economic corridors within the state, according to the Chief Minister.
He urged officials to ensure the success of the upcoming CII partnership summit in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15, recommending that foundations for some companies be laid prior to the event.
Officials indicated that the CII partnership summit is expected to attract significant investments.
Ministers including Nara Lokesh, K Atchannaidu, TG Bharat, P Narayana, Gottipati Ravikumar, Anagani Satyaprasad, BC Janardhana Reddy, Vasamsetti Subhas, and Chief Secretary K Vijayanand were also in attendance.
