Mumbai, March 15 (NationPress) Renowned actor Ashish Vidyarthi has shared insights into the difficulties he encountered due to being frequently typecast as a villain in Bollywood movies.
Famous for his memorable portrayals of antagonistic roles, Vidyarthi elaborated on how this typecasting influenced his career trajectory and the effects it had on his acting journey.
In an exclusive discussion with IANS, Ashish, while addressing his project, “Marvel’s Wastelanders,” mentioned, “Throughout the years, I’ve realized that I possess a humorous side, prompting me to delve into stand-up comedy. Otherwise, people consistently cast me solely as a nefarious character who kills. That journey has enriched my rendition of Doctor Doom. He’s not merely a villain proclaiming, ‘I’ll kill, kill, kill.’ He has a sharp sense of humor and a sarcastic perspective on life. Hence, everything I’ve accomplished as an actor contributes to my next venture. In fact, I’m currently in Vadodara for a stand-up performance this evening.”
Vidyarthi, who has lent his voice to ‘Doctor Doom’ in Hindi, also expressed his enthusiasm for being part of this franchise. The ‘Ziddi’ actor remarked, “Engaging in audio projects has always fascinated me. Collaborating with a leader like Audible, known for its premium audio storytelling, was incredible. Furthermore, it was about my role. I became eager to craft an entire character using solely my voice. When I initially joined, I had minimal knowledge about this domain. However, as I shared my experience, people responded with, ‘Wait, you’re working on Wastelanders?’ That’s when I grasped the enormity of this universe, and I became captivated. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it.”
The concluding season, “Marvel’s Wastelanders,” features Saif Ali Khan as the voice of Star-Lord, Jaideep Ahlawat as Hawkeye, Kareena Kapoor Khan as Black Widow, Sharad Kelkar as Wolverine, Ashish Vidyarthi as Doom, and Yashaswini Dayama as Valeria Richards.
“Marvel's Wastelanders” signifies the inaugural collaboration between Audible and Marvel Entertainment. This six-season audio saga launched in June 2021 in English.
