Patna, Dec 3 (NationPress) A significant technical issue with the audio equipment led to disruptions and confusion in the Central Hall of the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Wednesday during the address delivered by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan.
As soon as the Governor commenced his speech, the sound system malfunctioned.
For almost 15 minutes, his voice was inaudible to all attendees, resulting in uncertainty throughout the hall.
Ministers and legislators struggled to catch any words, but the microphones remained silent.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar appeared visibly upset, frequently glancing at the officials responsible for the technical setup.
The Governor also seemed taken aback by the uproar caused by the audio failure.
During his address, Legislative Council member Urmila Thakur started vocalizing her discontent regarding the situation.
However, due to the previous audio malfunction, her voice could not be heard clearly, although her agitation was apparent to everyone present.
Her actions drew the attention of CM Nitish Kumar.
He gestured to her and firmly commanded, “You should sit down.”
Following his instruction, the RJD MLC returned to her seat, momentarily surprising others in the Central Hall.
With the audio system still down, members initiated a commotion. It wasn’t until the Assembly's technical team intervened and restored the microphones that the address could continue without further issues.
Once the system was back online, the Governor proceeded to outline the government’s accomplishments and discuss its five-year strategic plan.
He also emphasized ongoing initiatives aimed at job creation.
Wednesday was the third day of the winter session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and the third day of the inaugural session of the 18th Assembly.
A joint sitting of both Houses was organized for the Governor’s address, where all members are typically expected to attend.
However, the Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav was absent, once again breaking tradition.
Despite the Governor outlining the new government's agenda, Tejashwi departed for Delhi a day earlier, raising concerns about his repeated absence from the Governor’s addresses.
