Swami Avimukteshwaranand Calls for March to Lucknow on Cow Protection Issues
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Varanasi, March 1 (NationPress) Swami Avimukteshwaranand has declared a march to Lucknow on March 11, citing a lack of response from Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, regarding cow protection issues.
During a press briefing in Varanasi, the Shankaracharya stated, “We have not received any communication from Yogi Adityanath, nor have we sensed any willingness on his part to act for Gomata. Given this scenario, we have set a date to reach Lucknow on March 11. There are still 10 days remaining. If you can act, then do it.”
He further mentioned that on March 6, his followers would honor the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, whom he regards as a defender of cows and Brahmins.
Highlighting the deep religious value of cow protection, Swami Avimukteshwaranand asserted that within the Sanatan tradition, Brahmins and cows are viewed as interconnected entities.
“The essence is that Brahmins and cows are one—they share a common lineage. A Yajna is conducted by uniting both: the Brahmin offers the mantra, while the cow supplies the ghee, essential for the Havan. Only when the Brahmin and the cow unite can the Yajna of Sanatan Dharma flourish,” he explained.
Clarifying the nature of the planned march, Swami Avimukteshwaranand stated that there would be no formal organizational structure provided by him.
“Understand that we are not an organization in the traditional sense; we cannot dictate how many attendees should come from different locations. We lack arrangements for buses, vehicles, tractors, meals, or any other logistics. This is a sincere call for those willing to use their own resources to join us for the cause of Gomata,” he remarked.
Describing the event as a “historic moment,” the seer expressed hope that individuals would voluntarily step forward.
“This will mark a historic occasion when, responding to a singular call for truth, people will contribute from their own means for the welfare of Gomata,” he concluded.
