Kolkata, March 28 (NationPress) Abhishek Banerjee, the All-India General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress, asserted on Saturday that the BJP's bulldozer-style politics have no relevance in West Bengal.

Through his X account, Banerjee reported that violence erupted during the Ram Navami celebrations in Raghunathganj, Murshidabad district, following several administrative shifts orchestrated by the Election Commission in the state.

He stated, "This is the kind of ‘PARIVARTAN’ the BJP aims to enforce upon Bengal's soil. Right after the election announcements, the @ECISVEEP initiated extensive administrative changes, replacing key officials including the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, ADGs, IGs, SPs, DMs, the Kolkata Police Commissioner, and even the KMC Commissioner. Such unprecedented measures raise significant doubts about their intent and timing."

He further noted, "What has ensued is even more alarming. In the wake of these changes, there are rising reports of harassment, with shops being vandalized, tensions inflamed in the name of religion, and ordinary citizens suffering. We reject the ‘BULLDOZER MODEL’. We do not need imported politics of animosity and violence."

According to Banerjee, "It’s the cultural gatherings, the 'adda', and the festivals we cherish together, along with the mutual respect for our diverse beliefs. THAT’S OUR IDENTITY."

He emphasized the necessity of maintaining communal harmony and how West Bengal has excelled in this endeavor.

"For generations, Bengal has joyfully celebrated Durga Puja, Diwali, Poila Boishakh, Eid, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Buddha Purnima, and Christmas together without fear, division, or violence. Yet, in just the last few days, we witness a disturbing preview of the ‘CHANGE’ being imposed on this land of revolutionaries," he remarked.

"The land of Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda has always championed tolerance, harmony, and coexistence. For decades, Bengal has exemplified unity in diversity," Banerjee added.

He concluded his statement by asserting that no one should gain from such divisive politics. "Today, that very social fabric seems to be under strain. The pressing question is: Who stands to gain from this disruption and at what cost to the people of Bengal? Shame on @ECISVEEP @BJP4India!" Banerjee expressed.
