Los Angeles, April 3 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Ben Affleck is still connected with his 'The Accountant 2' character Christian Wolff, as he asserts that the character "never departed" from him.

The 52-year-old star, who first portrayed the autistic accountant in the original 2016 action thriller, is reprising his role in the forthcoming sequel, according to ‘Female First UK’.

The sequel will depict the character collaborating with his estranged yet extremely dangerous brother Braxton (played by Jon Bernthal) to pursue enigmatic assassins.

During his address at CinemaCon, he expressed to the audience, "It feels fantastic to continue the story of 'The Accountant'. I’m excited to reprise this role alongside this remarkable cast. In many respects, I feel like this character never departed from me".

As reported by ‘Female First UK’, Daniella Pineda will join the cast in the sequel as Anais, and she hinted that her character can hold her own against Wolff.

She teased, "I have some incredibly intense fight scenes that will look stunning on screen". While Bernthal suggested that Wolff requires his brother Braxton by his side, Affleck is not entirely convinced.

He humorously remarked, "It's not mandatory; it’s beneficial". Affleck recently confessed that filming the stunt scenes "was not effortless" for him on set. He shared with AccessHollywood, "It did not come easy for me, particularly with a guy like Jon (Bernthal), who’s exceptional at it. Cynthia (Addai-Robinson) did an amazing job, and Daniella (Pineda) is incredibly tough in the film, so I was merely trying to keep pace". He praised director Gavin (O'Connor) for his approach to action sequences, stating, "They’re not just action for action's sake. I don’t find it interesting merely to witness people shooting or a car flipping over or something exploding just for the sake of it".

Meanwhile, director Gavin O'Connor disclosed that the film almost didn’t materialize due to “musical chairs” behind the scenes.

He previously told ScreenRant, "I think there was a bit of a revolving door and musical chairs happening at Warner Brothers. We finalized the deal to write the next film in 2018, but there were complications with Warner Brothers and Artists Equity regarding a co-studio arrangement. I’m not entirely sure what transpired, but we could never get it started there".

"Once Ben established his studio, we were like, ‘If you’re not going to produce it, don’t obstruct us from pursuing this film we’ve been trying to create for eight years’", he added.
