Bengaluru Shocker: Woman and Accomplices Arrested for Murder of Former Partner
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bengaluru, March 2 (NationPress) A shocking murder incident was uncovered on Monday in Manjunath Nagar, within the jurisdiction of the Bagalagunte police station, where a 40-year-old man was reportedly slain by his ex-partner and her accomplices. The authorities have apprehended three suspects, including a woman who asserts she has acted in films.
The victim has been identified as Mohan Rao, who was engaged in pigmy collection and small business ventures.
According to law enforcement, his remains were discovered in a rented residence in Manjunath Nagar approximately three days prior, prompting the registration of a murder case and the initiation of an investigation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) D.L. Nagesh stated that during the inquiry, it emerged that a woman named Urmila, also known as Bindu, along with her accomplices Vinay and Dhanush Gowda, played a role in the homicide. All three have been detained for further questioning.
As per police reports, Mohan Rao and Bindu had leased the property two to three months ago under the pretense of being a couple, despite not being legally wed.
Mohan Rao was living separately from his spouse, and Bindu was reportedly estranged from her husband as well. The two had been cohabitating in the rented space.
During their time together, Bindu allegedly developed a romantic connection with Vinay, a lorry driver, and they planned to marry. However, Mohan Rao reportedly opposed their relationship and insisted that Bindu stay with him. Authorities believe this opposition was the motive for the murder.
Investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly plotted to kill Mohan Rao. On the night of the incident, they are said to have forced him to consume alcohol, and once he was heavily intoxicated, they stabbed him multiple times. They also allegedly silenced him by covering his mouth and face with plastic, which resulted in his death. The body was subsequently left in the same house, according to police.
Police noted that Dhanush Gowda, who was employed at a non-vegetarian hotel and was a friend of the suspects, was summoned by Bindu to assist in executing the crime.
The woman claims to have studied LLB and participated in minor roles in videos or films, but police have indicated that these assertions are still under verification.
Authorities have filed a murder case and are conducting further investigations to gather more evidence and clarify the series of events.
