Bains mentioned that forecasts predict a decline in rainfall in the upcoming days, and the weather is expected to remain favorable across the region.
“This brings a sense of relief,” he expressed. Bains also noted that the situation is being closely monitored. For several days, he has been actively engaged on the ground with teams to enhance relief and rescue operations.
He has instructed authorities to expedite the ongoing efforts to strengthen the vulnerable Satluj embankment located in Hariwal village within his assembly constituency of Anandpur Sahib.
Officials and his teams are consistently present at the site, ensuring that no local resident experiences hardship. Jumbo bags are being delivered, and volunteers are diligently working at all potential impact sites. He emphasized that with everyone's collaboration, the work will reach completion swiftly.
Bains indicated that riverbanks are being reinforced using jumbo bags. He expressed his gratitude, highlighting that during these challenging times, support has poured in from all corners, including saints, religious figures, social service organizations, panchayats, sarpanches, youth groups, women, and particularly the young volunteers who have significantly contributed to relief and rescue efforts alongside the administration. He noted that wherever assistance is required, AAP volunteers are responding with commitment and earnestness.
A helpline number 87279-62441 has also been established to assist those in need.
