Bhubaneswar: BJYM Protests Following Altercation at Parliament

Bhubaneswar, Dec 19 (NationPress) Members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the ruling BJP, held a protest on Thursday at the Master Canteen Square in response to a confrontation that occurred on Parliament grounds, injuring two BJP MPs -- Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput.
The BJYM activists demanded that Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, issue an apology for the regrettable event that transpired in Parliament.
During the demonstration, the protesters set fire to an effigy of Rahul Gandhi.
Odisha BJYM president Abhilash Panda stated: "This incident will be recorded in history as a moment when the highest temple of democracy was tarnished with bloodshed due to the injury of a senior BJP leader. Rahul Gandhi must apologize. The citizens will remember this violence and will not forgive the Congress party."
In addition, the BJP supporters conducted a protest at Sahadevkhunta Square in Balasore, denouncing the actions of the Congress leader and accusing the party of engaging in "low-level politics" within the revered halls of Parliament.
As part of their protest, BJP activists burned an effigy of Rahul Gandhi to convey their frustration and called for accountability.
Balasore MLA Manas Dutta remarked: "Such behavior in Parliament is intolerable and showcases the declining standards of politics by the Congress party."
Meanwhile, Congress leaders and workers also organized a protest in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, demanding the resignation of HM Shah and an apology for the alleged disrespect shown to B.R. Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha.
It is important to note that a heated altercation occurred on the Parliament premises during a demonstration by opposition MPs alleging disrespect towards B.R. Ambedkar.
The situation escalated when BJP MP Pratap Sarangi accused Rahul Gandhi of pushing an MP, which led to Sarangi falling and sustaining a head injury.
In a statement to IANS, Sarangi claimed: "Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP, causing a collision with me. I fell and hit my head, which is bleeding. The push originated from Rahul Gandhi."
