Odisha BJP Leader Manmohan Samal Criticizes Congress for Parliament Altercation

Bhubaneswar, Dec 19 (NationPress) The president of the Odisha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Manmohan Samal, expressed strong disapproval regarding the recent scuffle in Parliament in the national capital, resulting in injuries to BJP MPs Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput.

"We denounce such forms of 'goondaism'... this incident marks a dark chapter in the history of Indian democracy. Such behavior from the Leader of the Opposition of a responsible political party was unexpected. Rahul Gandhi demonstrates a lack of behavioral balance. The entire population of 140 crore Indians is condemning this action," stated the Odisha BJP chief.

Samal extended his wishes for a swift recovery to the injured BJP leaders, Sarangi and Rajput, who are reportedly receiving treatment at Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital.

The Odisha BJP leader emphasized that no one has the right to harm such esteemed members of parliament.

He accused the Congress party of lacking respect for Ambedkar and other leaders, aside from the ‘Gandhi Parivar’. Samal affirmed that the BJP has always held the constitution in high regard, alleging that the Congress party has consistently misused it.

A heated clash occurred on the premises of Parliament on Thursday during a protest by opposition MPs who accused BJP members of showing disrespect towards B.R. Ambedkar. The situation escalated when BJP MP Pratap Sarangi accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of pushing an MP, which triggered a sequence of events that led to Sarangi falling and sustaining a head injury.

Speaking to IANS, Sarangi claimed, "Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP, and I collided with him, leading me to fall and injure my head, which is bleeding. The push originated from Rahul Gandhi.

The protest was in response to remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha, which the opposition deemed disrespectful to B.R. Ambedkar.

In retaliation, BJP MPs organized a counter-protest, accusing Congress of showing disrespect towards the Constitution and B.R. Ambedkar.

Led by BJP MP Anurag Thakur, they chanted slogans like "Congress party maafi maango, Ambedkar ka apmaan nahi sahega Hindustan (Congress must apologize, India will not tolerate the insult to Ambedkar)."

In response to accusations of deliberately pushing the BJP leader, Rahul Gandhi stated, "This might be captured on camera. BJP MPs were obstructing our entry into Parliament. They were blocking and threatening us. Protesting is our right."
