Pratap Sarangi Claims Rahul Gandhi Acted Like a Bouncer, Not as Leader of the Opposition

New Delhi, Dec 31 (NationPress) Pratap Chandra Sarangi, the BJP MP representing Balasore in Odisha, has charged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with acting more like a bouncer rather than fulfilling his role as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, a title previously held by distinguished figures like former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
BJP MP Sarangi, who incurred injuries during a confrontation in Parliament on December 19 and was subsequently hospitalized, provided reporters with an update on his condition on Monday.
"I am feeling better now and was released from the hospital on December 28. However, I must remain cautious as the stitches on my head have not completely healed," he stated.
Describing the incident, BJP MP Sarangi recounted, "It occurred while we (BJP MPs) were gathered near an entry gate, peacefully protesting against the disrespect shown to B.R. Ambedkar, while holding placards."
"Out of nowhere, Rahul Gandhi arrived with some of his party members and began pushing individuals to move forward. He was acting like a bouncer, not like the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, a role once held by great leaders like Vajpayee ji," Sarangi alleged.
Pratap Sarangi asserted that there was ample space near the gate for Rahul Gandhi to pass without causing any disturbance.
"Rahul Gandhi shoved MP Mukesh Rajput, who was standing in front of him. Rajput ji fell onto me, and my head likely struck a hard object, leading to the injury," Sarangi explained.
When asked if Rahul Gandhi had shown concern after the incident, Sarangi replied, "Yes, he approached me after someone alerted him about what occurred. However, he left promptly without displaying any genuine concern. I recovered thanks to the blessings of Lord Jagannath."
Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were suspended following protests by the Opposition demanding an apology from Amit Shah for his remarks about B.R. Ambedkar.
Dressed in blue, a color representing B.R. Ambedkar, INDIA bloc MPs, including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, staged a demonstration on the Parliament grounds, calling for Amit Shah's resignation over his comments regarding the chief architect of the Constitution.
