Odisha BJP Leaders Criticize Congress and Rahul Gandhi for Parliamentary Altercation

Bhubaneswar, Dec 20 (NationPress) Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha expressed their disapproval on Thursday towards the Congress party and its chief Rahul Gandhi regarding the confrontation that unfolded within the Parliament grounds in Delhi.
During the incident, two BJP MPs, Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, suffered significant injuries.
BJP MLA Sanatan Bijuli remarked, "I condemn this attack; it is not merely an assault on Pratap Sarangi but on the Constitution, Parliament, and democracy. I urge the Lok Sabha Speaker to take strict measures against Rahul Gandhi, and I request his disqualification from Parliament. His goal is to instill fear across the nation and create divisions."
In addition, Kishor Chandra Sarangi, brother of Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi, denounced the altercation and placed the blame on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
"This incident is a direct consequence of Rahul Gandhi's actions; we categorically denounce this disgraceful occurrence. The Parliament should be revered as the temple of democracy, and such behaviors are intolerable," Sarangi stated.
BJP supporters organized protests, burning effigies of Rahul Gandhi across various locations in the state, including Bhubaneswar, Balasore, and Cuttack.
Expressing his dismay, Manmohan Samal, President of BJP's Odisha unit, previously described the incident as a bleak moment in the narrative of Indian democracy.
"This was unexpected from the Leader of the Opposition of a responsible political party. Rahul Gandhi exhibits a profound behavioral imbalance. The entire population of 140 crore Indians is denouncing this act," Samal added.
Senior BJP figure Baijayant Jay Panda also condemned the Congress party concerning the altercation.
"I vehemently denounce the reckless and arrogant conduct of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. Such behavior from the Leader of the Opposition is appalling and cannot be accepted in a democracy. I wish for the swift recovery of my colleagues in Parliament, @pcsarangi and @mukeshrajput_mp," Panda expressed on his social media account.
A tense situation arose in the Parliament premises on Thursday during a demonstration by opposition MPs, who accused the ruling party of showing disrespect towards B.R. Ambedkar.
The situation escalated when BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi claimed that Rahul Gandhi had pushed another MP, which resulted in Sarangi falling and sustaining a head injury.
In an interview with IANS, Sarangi recounted, "Rahul Gandhi shoved an MP, which caused him to collide with me. I fell and hit my head, leading to bleeding. The push originated from Rahul Gandhi."
