BJP and Congress Clash Over Parliament Scuffle: Accusations Fly

New Delhi, Dec 19 (NationPress) A fierce exchange of words has ignited between the BJP and Congress members of Parliament concerning the altercation involving BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput. Both MPs are currently hospitalized at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in the city due to head injuries.

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has found himself under fire from the BJP for allegedly instigating the physical confrontation, with numerous BJP members condemning his 'inappropriate and aggressive' actions towards senior lawmakers. In contrast, the Congress party has dismissed these accusations as a conspiracy aimed at tarnishing Gandhi's reputation.

A large number of BJP representatives vehemently denounced the incident, criticizing both the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi for the chaos that unfolded outside Parliament, particularly concerning the disrespect shown to Ambedkar.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated, “Our MP is in the ICU with stitches on his head. What else does Congress intend to achieve?”

BJP MP Sambit Patra described Rahul Gandhi's actions as unacceptable, asserting, “Rahul Gandhi pushed an elderly MP from Odisha, leading to his fall and subsequent injuries. He is now in the ICU at RML Hospital. This incident is profoundly troubling.”

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey labeled the occurrence as “indecent and disgraceful,” stating, “Congress intruded while BJP was demonstrating. Who authorized them? The manner in which an elderly leader was struck is appalling.”

BJP MP Ramesh Awasthi remarked, “Rahul Gandhi and his associates recklessly initiated the pushing and shoving. I myself was pushed but managed to keep my balance. Unfortunately, Pratap Sarangi fell and incurred a head injury.”

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi also criticized the Leader of Opposition, saying, “When Rahul Gandhi came, individuals were parting ways for him. Yet, he forced his way through, which indicates his frustration over political defeats. Legal action remains a possibility.”

On the other hand, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit refuted the allegations, stating to IANS, “I have reviewed the video, which clearly depicts Rahul Gandhi attempting to enter but being intentionally obstructed. A thorough examination of the footage reveals the true intent behind the interference. The accusations are entirely false and seem to be part of a broader scheme.”

Rahul Gandhi himself has denied the accusations of having pushed Pratap Sarangi or any BJP MP, resulting in any fall. He stated, “It may be captured on camera. BJP MPs were hindering our entry into Parliament. They obstructed and threatened us. We have the right to protest.”
