PM Modi Reaches Out to Injured BJP MPs, Guarantees Complete Assistance

New Delhi, Dec 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reached out to check on the condition of two BJP MPs who were hurt during an altercation at the Parliament entrance, allegedly involving Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
PM Modi personally contacted BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput to ask about their health following their injuries. He also guaranteed them complete assistance.
This situation escalated after a heated confrontation on the Parliament grounds during a protest by Opposition MPs who claimed there was a lack of respect towards Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
The incident intensified when BJP MP Pratap Sarangi accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of pushing another MP, which resulted in a domino effect that caused Sarangi to fall and suffer a head injury.
In an interview with IANS, Sarangi stated, "Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP, and that MP collided with me. I fell and hit my head, which is now bleeding. The initial push came from Rahul Gandhi."
According to NDTV, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, in a sarcastic jab at Rahul Gandhi—who possesses a Black Belt in Aikido, a modern Japanese martial art—remarked, "Have you learned karate or kung fu to attack other MPs?"
Denying accusations of intentionally pushing the BJP leader, Rahul Gandhi informed reporters, "It might be captured on camera. BJP MPs were obstructing our entry into Parliament. They blocked and threatened us. We have the right to protest."
Gandhi further claimed that it was actually a group of BJP MPs who were shoving him and Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, which instigated the clash, as reported by NDTV.
The protest was in response to recent comments made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha, which the Opposition argued disrespected Dr. Ambedkar.
The Opposition called for HM Shah's removal from the Cabinet.
In the meantime, BJP MPs conducted a counter-protest, accusing Congress of showing disrespect towards the Constitution and Dr. Ambedkar.
Led by BJP MP Anurag Thakur, they chanted slogans like "Congress party maafi maango, Ambedkar ka apmaan nahi sahega Hindustan (Congress must apologize, India will not tolerate the insult to Ambedkar)."
Thakur condemned Congress, asserting, "The Nehru-Gandhi family has consistently disrespected Dr. Ambedkar. Despite being the architect of the Constitution, they worked to undermine him in elections and delayed honoring him with the Bharat Ratna, which was ultimately awarded by a non-Congress government."
