Patna, Aug 10 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, made serious allegations against Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Sunday, claiming that he holds two voter ID cards and is registered in the draft voter list at two separate locations. Tejashwi has called for the Election Commission of India to conduct a "transparent" inquiry into this situation.
According to Tejashwi, Deputy CM Sinha's name is included in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2025 draft rolls from both Patna and Lakhisarai districts.
The RJD leader asserted that Vijay Kumar Sinha is listed at serial number 757 in booth number 405 of Patna's Bakipur assembly constituency, with EPIC card number AFS0853341, and also appears at serial number 274 in booth number 231 in Lakhisarai, with EPIC card number IAF3939337.
He went on to reveal that there are discrepancies regarding the Deputy CM's age on the two cards.
Tejashwi emphasized, "Whether you call it a revelation or a fraud, it is undeniable that the same individual holds two different EPIC cards and is registered in two locations." He presented these findings to reporters, stating that he had "verified" the information through the official website of the Election Commission.
Additionally, he noted that the Commission had previously issued a notice regarding the existence of two voter ID cards under his name.
"I sent my response via speed post on August 8. Now we must wait to see when the Patna and Lakhisarai administrations will address Vijay Kumar Sinha," he remarked.
Tejashwi insisted, "There can be no greater fraud than a Deputy Chief Minister’s name appearing on the voter list at two locations following revisions," promising to present his case in court with "full evidence".
The RJD leader also highlighted alleged inconsistencies in his own voter details.
"Our parents' names differ, our siblings' names vary, and my name is registered with someone else's details in the Election Commission’s voter list. This illustrates the chaos within the voter list," he explained to reporters.
Demanding "transparency", he cautioned that such "irregularities" are unacceptable in a democracy and urged the Election Commission to take decisive action.
