Patna, June 30 (NationPress) In light of the recurring bridge collapse incidents in Bihar, the state government has taken decisive action by organizing specialized training for engineers under the Rural Works Department, facilitated by IIT experts on Monday.
The goal of the workshop is to furnish engineers with advanced technical guidelines aimed at enhancing the quality and safety of bridges to avert future collapses.
“Following last year’s significant criticism after several major bridges fell, we are prioritizing quality. IIT experts are mentoring our engineers to construct durable and safe bridges, and we plan to conduct similar workshops in the future,” stated Rural Work Minister Ashok Chaudhary during a media briefing in Patna on Monday.
Addressing accusations from Tejashwi Yadav regarding Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attempting to win over the Muslim vote bank amid the Waqf Board controversy, Minister Ashok Chaudhary responded, “Such claims are typical of those who see themselves as the spokespersons for the 'M-Y (Muslim-Yadav) equation.' Our Muslim brothers should consider what was accomplished for minorities during the 15 years of RJD governance. How many universities, schools, or training centers were established for minorities? What job opportunities were created?”
He reiterated that Nitish Kumar’s administration has made tangible contributions to minority communities, emphasizing education, training, and employment.
“We endorse inclusive development. Our leader has made it clear that efforts will be made for those who vote and those who do not. We engage in a politics of development, not one based on caste or religion,” he remarked.
In response to Tejashwi Yadav’s assertion that “Nitish Kumar has accomplished nothing in 20 years,” Ashok Chaudhary challenged the RJD leader to an open debate.
“Tejashwi Yadav should clarify what he believes Nitish Kumar has failed to do. I am prepared for an open discussion with him on this matter. The opposition’s tendency to make false statements is well-known, but the people of Bihar are observant and discerning,” Chaudhary concluded.
